Why is Canada student visa taking so long?
Canadian student visa timing has been affected by the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to several restrictions on travel, many visa applications were delayed. This was done in the health interest of both the Canadian people and foreign nationals.
How long does it take to process a Canadian student visa?
After applying for your Canadian study permit, the processing time may take up to 90 days, but it’s usually faster. This also depends on the situation in your home country.
How do I know if my Canadian student visa is approved?
If your application is approved, you’ll get an approval letter that says you’re allowed to study in Canada. This letter is called the port of entry letter of introduction. Once you have this letter, make sure you’re eligible and then ask to get your study permit.

Yes, you may be able to bring your spouse or common-law partner, and dependent children, with you to Canada. They may be eligible for a study or work permit, or a visitor visa. You must submit their applications online when you apply for your study permit.
Can I leave and come back to Canada if I have a study permit?
You can leave Canada and return, as long as your visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is still valid. Your permit (study or work) is not a visa and doesn’t allow you to travel back to Canada.
Can I apply for study permit while waiting for PR?
If you would like to study in Canada while waiting for your sponsorship application to be processed, you do not need a study permit for courses less than six months. You are able to take any courses that are less than six months long, so long as your visitor visa remains valid for that length of time.
How long does it take IRCC to review eligibility?
According to IRCC most applications are processed within 6 months or less. The 6 months processing time starts when your application meets the completeness check. You can use Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) / Webform to enquire about the status of your application if it exceeds 6 months.
What can I do if my Canadian student visa is refused?
